Brian Yeardley Continental have taken delivery of their first Schmitz Mega Trailer, to join their international fleet of trailers.

Yeardley~s run their own driver accompanied daily full load and groupage services to France, Spain, Portugal, Italy & the Benelux countries.

Managing Director Kevin Hopper said; "Schmitz approached Brian Yeardley~s and asked us to trial one of their Mega trailers against our existing trailer supplier and as we are a forward thinking company, always looking for benefits to our business and the services we can provide our customers we were happy to do so once they had been shown to be there."

The trailer has done two trips so far and we are very pleased with it, the trailer has a very simple raise and lower mechanism on the roof, meaning whenever possible the driver can drop the roof from 3 metres to 2.75 metres giving us a massive saving on wind resistance and fuel economy on long journeys.  The trailer also has a lifting front axle which helps to prevent tyre wear.  All trailers in the Yeardley fleet are fitted with Michelin 445/45 R19.5 XTA2 Energy tyres, which have proved to reduce the companies tyre costs by 50% over the last twelve months.
